Hartford Winner of EPA “Green & Complete Streets” Technical Assistance

Six weeks ago, the Environmental Protection Agency awarded Hartford a “Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities” grant that will help Hartford develop a “Green & Complete Streets” program.  A team of City of Hartford and Metropolitan District Commission staff members is already working with the EPA to develop an agenda, presentations, and exercises that will help facilitate discussion about the topic during a 2-day workshop.  We join Baltimore, Detroit, and 2 other communities in getting this award, which will help Hartford build on its innovative Complete Streets policy, proposed in 2016 by Mayor Luke Bronin and adopted unanimously by the City Council.
